6.6.09 This is, by far, the best purchase we have made when it comes to toys for our son. We’ve certainly gotten our money’s worth out of it. Liam rides it non-stop. We even take it to Nana and Papa’s every Sunday because they have such a great place for riding tractors! Liam is just another man on the farm! Oh, and he REFUSES to ride it without the trailor on the back. (Pix taken at the Oglesby Family Reunion)

6.1.09 I love a girl in pigtails… esp. mine! Reminds me of how my mom used to fix my hair when I was a little girl…

Wait. I’m not sure WHAT my mom was trying to do to my hair here… but we’ll call it a “pigtail attempt!”

5.30.09 Liam and Nadia’s 1st trip to the Nashville Zoo. Funny, I didn’t get any pictures of the animals… only MY animals…

Nadia enjoying the “Jungle” Gym

We had to cut the visit a little short because Liam had an accidental confrontation with the pavement. Ouch! He ended up knocking his two front teeth back a little bit… but after a consultation with our dentist/friend, we found out Liam’s teeth would be fine. No doctor visits. No special procedures. Praise God. In fact, Liam acted fine and his front teeth hardened back into almost the same place as before. The dentist reminded us he’d be losing those teeth anyway… in a few years (and not sooner, if we’re lucky!)
Here’s a look at Liam the day after… (not sure how I got him smiling in this picture… the boy who doesn’t like his picture taken. I guess you could say he was proud of his scrapes. Tough boy!)

4.25.09 Thanks to Nana, the kids have had fun all summer long with this sand and water table, especially Nadia. The child loves it. And it’s a bonus when you get to play outside in just your diaper!

4.25.09 My niece, Olivia’s 1st Communion (or “Livie” as Liam calls her)

Livie, Darla and Nadia

Maeve turned 2 this year and had a cool donut party on 4.25.09. She shared the occasion with her friend, Levi. Levi is the little stinker who already stole Maeve’s heart without Liam’s permission!
Check out the super cute “2″ shaped donuts! Maeve completely disliked the “Happy Birthday” singing/candle blowing ritual that day…

and neither kid wanted to wear the fabulous party hats that Kim spent hours gluing sprinkles onto…

but the party was a blast and all the kids had so much fun!

After I posted this picture of Liam at church…

his teacher (aka my brother’s sweet girlfriend, Bethann) replied. I had to share her comment! Thanks Bethann! Ha!
Hey Darla, Great to see you working on your blog again! Liam was in the firefighter’s outfit because we were learning about being helpers at church and helpers in the community and that the Bible tells us to help one another!
Your guesses made me laugh!
Bethann

Stray animals make the best pets. Meet Simon… the once tiny, tiny kitten that showed up under a bush outside our home during a nasty thunderstorm several years ago. After weeks of “therapy”, I finally managed to gain the trust of this timid kitten… and she’s been ours ever since. (And yes, I named a girl cat “Simon”!) The picture above shows Simon’s life BEFORE Liam and Nadia came into our lives…
The picture below shows what Simon now must endure to remain a part of our family…

(Pix taken: 4.24.09) Don’t be dismayed, tho. Simon secretly loves the affection.

4.22.09 This picture cracks me up… mainly because it was taken in church! Liam used to despice the nursery and would have crying fits when we left him… and now, he has fun. Can’t you see why? I still haven’t figured out what the lesson was that day…
maybe the burning bush???…
or the fiery darts of the devil???…
or hell???!!
