Our family is still trying to figure out the new normal since the death of my parents, so my sister and I decided we would celebrate Easter away from home this year. We spent the weekend at a lakehouse on Kentucky Lake. It was FABULOUS! We had an amazing time, and it was nice to simply be away.
Here’s our weekend in pictures:

Playdoh with Aunt Selena (aka Aunt Nena). She is so much fun!

The previous action called for a bath

We had a nice lunch at Patti’s Restaurant in Grand Rivers. This place will always hold a special place in my heart. It was the last place my parents went before they were killed. It’s such a fitting place for them, and I can imagine they had an amazing time being there… and being together.

This is the look we get a lot from Nadia.

Much better!

Meeting the Easter Bunny. Liam loved him!

Hi Darla and Jake,
I don’t think you and I have ever met,but I feel like I know you, not only as a viewer of wbko news but knowing that you are married to Jake makes you a very special person. I have known Jake since his birth and are friends with his mom and dad. Jake grew up with my son(Jay)and my daughter(Jessica). You all have a beautiful family and I can tell a very loving one. I hope someday we will be able to meet and I can see Nadia and Liam.
Future friend I hope,
Marilyn
hey Darla, just wanted to say you have a beautiful family, I have always known what a great person you were since you were one of the few people who treated me like I was a person, not putting me into any groups as many do in school. Thank you for being a wonderful person and as anyone can see God is rewarding you now and he started with a husband and 2 beautiful children.
