lily’s pad

We had a playdate at Lily’s Pad on July 31 (aka Lily’s house).  Her mom, Liz Fogle, was a producer at WBKO, and after giving birth to Lily, she became a stay-at-home mom… the world’s most difficult, yet rewarding job.  Lily Grace is a little princess, and I’m sure her and Nadia will be lifelong friends.

DeCesare Drop-off

On July 29, we ventured out to Fida’s house to see her twin boys.  Shamefully, I managed to get home without any pictures of Alex and Luke.  I guess caring for 2 kids under the age of 2 kept both of my hands too busy to pick up the camara… yet somehow, I captured this video of Liam and his buddy, Justin (who was also at Fida’s visiting).  The two had a lot of fun together and, as most kids do, they eventually gravitated toward the threadmill.  Probably not the safest thing to let my child play with, but since it wasn’t actually turned on, I didn’t think they could cause too much damage… and they had a blast!  Justin dumped Liam off 100 times… at least!  And for the record… no child was injured in the making of this film!

Cook Farms Cornhole Olympics

For the past 5 years, our friends Joel David and Carrie Cook (pictured above), have hosted a Cornhole Tournament.  This year’s event was held on July 19… and in honor of the 2008 Olympics, it had an Olympic Theme.  The first year of the tourney, Cheyenne and Craig were the Champs.  And since I’m a smart girl, I partnered up with my husband the next year… and because of his skills… we took home the gold!  Victory stops there, however.  Life changes… and two kids later, we’re lucky to simply make it to the event.  Winning is no longer an option since we spend half the night making sure Liam is safe running around the farm… and playing with Nadia at the same time.  Cheyenne and I managed to toss a few games… but we got stomped by the more grueling competitors!

boys will be boys

On July 18.2008, Cheyenne’s company hosted a “Family Day”.  They had lots of children’s activities, and Liam had a great time… but why is it the simplest things are the most entertaining?  A nice water puddle was calling Liam’s name… and he couldn’t resist!  Oh… and how many germs did he consume when he decided he was thirsty?

We couldn’t deprive Nadia of the fun.  Besides, every kid should get to play in a puddle at least once!  And Liam got thirsty again… boys are so gross!

The water balloon that wouldn’t bust…

mama’s, don’t let your babies…

… grow up to be COWBOYS!!!

We were in the basement not too long ago (July 13) and Liam discovered Cheyenne’s old cowboy hat that was tucked away in the corner of a storage shelf.  He did his usual pointing and grunting letting us know he wanted to see it.  As far as I know, it’s the first cowboy hat Liam’s ever seen, yet he knew exactly what to do with it.  Should I be worried?!
